"Understanding Derivatives-a Primer "

This explains the "derivatives" scam better than anything else I have read.

Heidi is the proprietor of a bar in Detroit .

She realizes that virtually all of her customers are unemployed alcoholics and, as such, can no longer afford to patronize her bar.

To solve this problem, she comes up with a new marketing plan that allows her customers to drink now, but pay later.

Heidi keeps track of the drinks consumed on a ledger (thereby granting the customers' loans).

Word gets around about Heidi's "drink now, pay later" marketing strategy and, as a result, increasing numbers of customers flood into Heidi's bar. Soon she has the largest sales volume for any bar in Detroit ..

Alternet: Soros-Funded Study Says Fox Viewers Are “Stupid”
Sorry I have not been able to put the charts and pics as well and with the links

Comments (200) No! A Soros-funded study says that Fox viewers are stupid? I AM SHOCKED.

Does Alternet actually research things for conflict of interest before they skip to their keyboards? Says Alternet:

Yet another study has been released proving that watching Fox News is detrimental to your intelligence. World Public Opinion, a project managed by the Program on International Policy Attitudes at the University of Maryland, conducted a survey of American voters that shows that Fox News viewers are significantly more misinformed than consumers of news from other sources. What’s more, the study shows that greater exposure to Fox News increases misinformation.

Robert Reilly, author of The Closing of the Muslim Mind: Exclusive Jihad Watch interview

Robert Reilly, author of the superb and essential book The Closing of the Muslim Mind, was kind enough to grant Jihad Watch an exclusive interview:

In your fascinating new book The Closing of the Muslim Mind, you expand in important ways on the insight Pope Benedict XVI expressed in his famous Regensburg address--that Islam, as it currently exists in all "orthodox" forms, is fundamentally at odds with reason. Surely, you don't mean that Muslims don't employ reason in their daily lives or even their political conduct. So what do you mean?

I mean what the Pope meant when he spoke of the dehellenization of Islam - its loss of philosophy and reason. I mean that the premise from which many Muslims start is unreasonable in the sense that it is not subject to critical examination. It is not subject to critical examination because the principal theological school of Sunni Islam discredited reason.

In other words, a paranoid person behaves reasonably once you accept the paranoid delusion upon which he is acting. But it is his delusion that is unreasonable, not his behavior. The problem is getting him to see that his delusion does not comport with reality. In the majority of Sunni Islam today, access to realty is blocked because of the abandonment of reason. The premise on which reason was discredited is the delusion from which they are suffering. It is very hard to get them to realize this because the premise is a theological one - that God is pure will and power, not reason.

"Boundaries" Self Control 3 year old Kids

Self-Control Could Turn Kids Into Successful Adults
Children who display persistence, patience at age 3 become healthier, wealthier,
study findsBy Jenifer Goodwin

HealthDay Reporter

MONDAY, Jan. 24 (HealthDay News) -- Children with the most self-control at 3 years old become the healthiest, wealthiest and most successful adults, new research finds.

And those with the least self-control at age 3 are more likely to drop out of school, break the law and struggle financially, the study authors concluded.

Researchers analyzed data on about 1,000 children born in New Zealand in 1972-1973 and tracked them until age 32. Their self-control was measured at various points starting at age 3 using assessments by teachers, parents and the children themselves.

Children with high IQs raised in socioeconomically advantaged families tended to have greater self-control, according to the study published online Jan. 24 in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

But even after accounting for intelligence and social class, children who had more self-control at age 3 went on to earn more money and have better health at age 32.

American budget, deficit, and debts
The four questions are:

1.What is total spending of the federal budget?

2.What is the federal deficit?

3.What is the national debt?

4.What was the most recent interest payment on the national debt?

You'll be surprised at the answers. The first impression you'll get is that most won't know the difference between "deficit" and "national debt." You see, liberals are all for spending your money, but they don't have a clue how much of it is being spent nor how much debt they're getting us into in order to do that spending. You'll also find that the answer to question #1 ranges from a low of several hundred billion to a trillion; no one, it seems, is able to get the answer to within $300-$400 billion.

The Four Answers

The next step is to correct their answers by crossing out what they've written and, beside it, writing down the right figures. They are:

1) Total spending for the federal budget for 2010 is projected to be approximately $3.6 trillion. The budget comprises total expenditures and total receipts by the federal government.

Political Correctness

The Origins of Political Correctness

Bill Lind, February 5, 2000

An Accuracy in Academia Address by Bill Lind

Variations of this speech have been delivered to various AIA conferences including the 2000 Consevative University at American University

Where does all this stuff that you’ve heard about this morning – the victim feminism, the gay rights movement, the invented statistics, the rewritten history, the lies, the demands, all the rest of it – where does it come from? For the first time in our history, Americans have to be fearful of what they say, of what they write, and of what they think. They have to be afraid of using the wrong word, a word denounced as offensive or insensitive, or racist, sexist, or homophobic.

Hassled Christians

Open Doors:

Of the top 10 countries on the 2011 WWL, eight have Islamic majorities. Persecution has increased in seven of them. They are Iran, which clamps down on a growing house church movement; Afghanistan, where thousands of believers cluster deep underground; and Saudi Arabia, which still refuses to allow any Saudi person to convert to Christianity.

Others are lawless Somalia, ruled by bloodthirsty terrorists threatening to kill Christian aid workers who feed Somalia's starving, impoverished people; tiny Maldives, which mistakenly boasts it is 100 percent Islamic; Yemen with its determination to expel all Christian workers; and Iraq, which saw extremists massacre 58 Christians in a Baghdad cathedral on Oct. 31. Of the top 30 countries, only seven have a source other than Islamic extremists as the main persecutors of Christians.
After the jump-break at the end of this article is "Christianity arguably the most persecuted religion in the world "

The Pact of Umar

The Pact of Umar

(promises conquered Christians make in return for Muslim protection):

We shall not build, in our cities or in their neighborhood, new monasteries, churches, convents, or monks' cells, nor shall we repair, by day or by night, such of them as fall in ruins or are situated in the quarters of the Muslims.

We shall keep our gates wide open for passersby and travelers. We shall give board and lodging to all Muslims who pass our way for three days.

We shall not give shelter in our churches or in our dwellings to any spy, nor bide him from the Muslims.

We shall not teach the Qur'an to our children.

We shall not manifest our religion publicly nor convert anyone to it. We shall not prevent any of our kin from entering Islam if they wish it.

We shall show respect toward the Muslims, and we shall rise from our seats when they wish to sit.

We shall not seek to resemble the Muslims by imitating any of their garments, the qalansuwa, the turban, footwear, or the parting of the hair. We shall not speak as they do, nor shall we adopt their kunyas.

We shall not mount on saddles, nor shall we gird swords nor bear any kind of arms nor carry them on our persons.

We shall not engrave Arabic inscriptions on our seals.

We shall not sell fermented drinks.

We shall clip the fronts of our heads.

We shall always dress in the same way wherever we may be, and we shall bind the zunar round our waists

We shall not display our crosses or our books in the roads or markets of the Muslims. We shall use only clappers in our churches very softly. We shall not raise our voices when following our dead. We shall not show lights on any of the roads of the Muslims or in their markets. We shall not bury our dead near the Muslims.

We shall not take slaves who have been allotted to Muslims.

We shall not build houses overtopping the houses of the Muslims.

(When I brought the letter to Umar, may God be pleased with him, he added, "We shall not strike a Muslim.")

We accept these conditions for ourselves and for the people of our community, and in return we receive safe-conduct.

If we in any way violate these undertakings for which we ourselves stand surety, we forfeit our covenant [dhimma], and we become liable to the penalties for contumacy and sedition. [That penalty is death--ed.]

Rationed Energy etc. to Rationed Life?

It is difficult to believe that this is really happening, and yet seems to make sense. His blog has all the links
This Evil Beast
I personally think 2011 is going to be an important and possibly dangerous year. A year in which all of us, who have 'old-fashioned' notions of freedom, democracy and justice will have to be vigilant. It may be that this year will decide what our future is going to be: Serf or sovereign.

Via NoTrickZone we get the news that last November, rather quietly, the German government passed a law that NTZ calls the Energy Tyranny Law.

This is serious. A new law has been passed by the German government, quietly and almost unnoticed. Soon in the future, the government will tell its citizens how much energy they can consume.

If the German State can pass this, then it can pretty much do whatever the hell it damn well pleases.

Gone are the days of a government that is there to serve its citizens. Here to stay is a group of elitists who are going to boss the citizens around and tell them how to live.

But of course it’s all in the name of saving planet from climate catastrophe. Never mind what Edenhofer of the PIK said awhile back. They are moving quickly now, and Germany is now lost. Although climate scepticism is rising, it’s too late.
The law in question mandates the 'smart energy meter', something we dealt with last year, when the first iteration of a similar Dutch law was defeated in the senate over privacy issues. Quite coincidentally (I think not) last November also saw the the second iteration of this draconian EUnion directive make Dutch law. The smart energy meter is back (NL).

What is particularly worrying is that this law enables state rationing of energy. NTZ mentions this with regard to the German law, Dutch protestant daily Trouw confirms it, with respect to the Dutch law:

The meter would make it possible for energy suppliers to use the internet to monitor and possibly even to adjust the use of energy by their customers.

Greek immigrant wall

Kevin Myers: Muslim girls are covertly prepared for forced marriage. Yet the feminists stay silent
By Kevin Myers

Thursday January 06 2011

YOU really can take your pick from the interconnected headlines of the past fortnight: the church-massacres of Christians in Egypt and Iraq by al-Qa'ida, and the murder of the governor of the Punjab, followed by a petition of support for his killer from 500 "moderate" Islamic scholars in Pakistan.

Closer to home there were the terrorist conspiracies in Denmark, Sweden and Britain, and the revelation that while the Christian population in Britain fell by two million in four years, the Muslim population there increased by 74pc to 2.9 million since 2001 (yes, the very year when Islamophobia supposedly became endemic).

But surely the most pathetic headline of all was the one announcing the Greek government's decision to build a 128-mile wall to keep out "illegal immigrants".

The profound problem of Muslim immigration

It shows how even the a larger number of Muslims that move, are unwittingly gathered in back to Islam so intergration can not happen or at best is only temporary.

Modern Day Trojan Horse: The Islamic Doctrine of Immigration

Sam Solomon & amp; Elias Al Maqdisi ANM Publishers, 2009, 139 pp., $14.95

By Henrik R. Clausen

As the West has accepted extensive immigration from Islamic countries, unexpected social and political problems have followed. While rising crime rates, rampant unemployment and a heavy load on our much-appreciated welfare systems are severe problems in itself, a distinct and dramatically more significant problem is the subtle subversion of our free and democratic societies, also known as "Stealth Jihad".

The retired Islamic scholar Sam Solomon, in this compact book "Al-Hijra, The Islamic Doctrine of Immigration", connects the dots and explains why seemingly unrelated incidents are in fact rooted in Islamic tradition and are steps on the path to create a fully Islamized society.

To demonstrate how this functions, Sam Solomon dives into his exhaustive knowledge of Islamic history and law. As Islamic scholars everywhere, he derives his conclusions from Islamic scripture, the life of Muhammad in particular, and shows how historically immigration has slowly but steadily lead to formerly Jewish or Christian societies submitting to Islam. The primary example in the book is Muhammads takeover of Yathrib, today known as Medina, and how the concepts and strategies developed for the conquest of a relatively insignificant Arab city are being duplicated by Islamic leaders worldwide, with the same goal: Expanding Islamic conquest ever further.

The depth of knowledge and connections described in Al-Hijra constitute both a strength and a weakness. Most important is the strength: Sam Solomon uses his Islamic scholarship to reveal the justifications and machinations being applied to undermine and attack the very notion of a secular society. This is important information that everyone involved in these matters deserve to have.

The weakness is that the book frequently becomes hard to follow. Understanding Islamic terms like Darura (necessity), Takweem (empowerment), I'dad (readying) etcetera are important in order to counter the undercurrent of Islamization, yet the denseness of the presentation makes the lines of thought hard to follow for the unprepared. One does well in having some knowledge of Islamic thought before reading Al-Hijra.

That said, this book is indispensable for a very simple reason: It presents information otherwise not available to the uninitiated Westerner, and mercilessly reveals the twisted logic of Islamist activists, their justifications, methods and ultimate goal:

It proves essential in understanding what and why with the muslim mind set and what is going on. A fully Shariah-compliant society. By pointing out the scriptural justifications and inner logic of seemingly benign and unrelated Muslim demands, it provides an invaluable tool for identifying and countering the stealth jihad destabilizing our societies. Dismantling this threat peacefully requires knowledge as provided by Sam Solomon.

After the jump is a good review opinion and summation of the book. Sam Solomon does seem to be a name to follow, as is Nicolai Sennels :- "Muslims and Westerners: The Psychological Differences"
